The Experience of a Lifetime ...
and a Weekend You Won't Forget!
On Monday, April 8, 2024, the state of Ohio (and especially Darke County!) will experience some of greatest viewing locations for a total solar eclipse. The 124-mile wide band (shown in blue on the map to the right) will be within the path of the total eclipse.

All areas outside the map's blue path will experience a partial eclipse.

How special is this event? Only 21 total solar eclipses have crossed the lower 48 states in the existence of the United States. The next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contigious Untited States occurs on Aug. 23, 2044.

As for Ohio, last total solar eclipse visible was 1806. The next one visible in Ohio after 2024 occurs in 2099.
