Darke County Parks Presents Wild Edibles of the Woods

April 11, 2015
11:00 am

Spring is here; let’s forage! Abby Artemisia is a botanist and herbalist whose favorite pastime is to take people into their own backyards and the woods down the street and teach about how to connect with the plants that grow there. We’ll walk and talk about some basic tips for plant identification, including recognizing similar characteristics that link plants in families. This makes identification and working with the plants easier. We’ll notice what’s growing now and talk about ways to harvest, prepare, and preserve it. This is the ultimate in seasonal eating!
